WorkForAStartup.in is an online job search engine and portal for Indian startups to attract potential talent. I have been towing away with this idea for nearly 4 long years as of now, and a lot got changed during this time period - I moved from Australia to India, switched few jobs working for startups, got married, and felt economic slowdown. But all this time somewhere in the back of my head I had this thing to provide some sort of channel, to startup community, where finding and hiring potential talent is cheap and easy. We (me and Justin) approached heaps of VCs, angel investors, technical advisors etc but none was interested and often compared WFAS to other job portals rather than looking deep into what problem we are trying to solve.
It is not easy for startups to retain talent as tendency is to get experience and then switch jobs to work for big fish, and mostly startups don't have enough funds to give hefty pay packets even if they don't want to loose their best talent. Workforastartup acts like a channel from where startups can keep on finding potential talent interested in working for a startup even when it hurts to let go the best one.
